Bibby's World: Bali Hoo!

Don't know how we locked this down, but we'd like to introduce you to No Regard's newest blogging sensation... Mike Bibby! He'll be checking in whenever he can, just to remind us: It's Bibby's World, we just live in it!

Aloha, everyone!

Guess what? I'm on the other side of the planet! That's right, I'm on my summer vacation in Bali. So far there have been a lot of big surprises, the biggest of which has been my discovery that this place is in Indonesia NOT India! Oh well... Still good. I'm currently writing this post at 7:30am in my big bed, which is covered by a giant white canopy sheet (the kind that royalty have in fairy tales) - it's something I've wanted to try since college, and it is so what it's cracked up to be. Anyway, onto the adventure...

Bali! Wow. What a place. The first thing you notice when you step off the plane is how everything here is so breathtakingly inexpensive. I can get lunch for 2 US dollars, and we're talking GOOD stuff here, like fried rice and chicken bits. The next thing I noticed is how there are no gyms or basketball courts, so my plan to practice shooting threes with the cast of Slumdog Millionaire (my favorite movie of all time) has failed on two levels. I did get to go parasailing though, and THAT is something you can't do just anywhere.

I'm having a great time so far, but I do wish I had brought someone with me. I don't really know what I was thinking, going on vacation alone. Well I do know what I was thinking. I had just finished reading Eat Pray Love, and the lady in that goes to Bali by herself and has the best time. But I think I need a little more time here before I start meeting cool Hindus and stuff.

Okay, ready to see Bali in Bibby Vision? Here come the PICTURES!

My bathroom! You can't really tell but the whole floor is part of the shower!

My bed! Need I say more?

The outlets here are crazy!

Alright, that's it! Pretty cool, huh? I've been here for 6 days and am thinking of spending a little more time outside. The only thing is, they have these guys that go door-to-door selling bootleg movies, and I just can't stop buying and watching them. And with that, I say farewell. Time to get back to my big Asian adventure!

Bibby out!
