October 31st, 2010. Mavs-Clippers. 3:00 left in the 4th Quarter.
So I'm here to report that we've dropped the ball on our first recap, dear reader. Yes, the photos above are embarrassing. They document a missed assignment of Sean Williams proportions. I must say however, that while it may seem like EndlessPat flubbed an easy task, that all he had to do was stay awake for an afternoon game on a weekend, that he was really up against some serious odds. A long weekend of heavy drinking, coupled with a bone bruise suffered during a backyard one-on-one game with yours truly left the dude groggy, and frankly whiny for most of Sunday. I heard him shout at some point that Jason Kidd hit a 65-footer to beat the buzzer of a quarter, but I wasn't watching, so he might have been lying. An overexaggeration? About the Mavericks? By EndlessPat? Never.
Anyway, I found him and snapped these photos just before the final two minutes. The game was a blowout and the starters were already out of the building to take their kids trick-or-treating. As for the bench guys playing garbage minutes, all I can say is that the Clippers bench looked much more excited to be on the court than the Mavs bench.
