Denver Nuggets Vs. New York Knicks
We all know that the Knicks are hoping to land a trade in the near future that would bring Melo to New York. With this in mind, our inside sources have leaked a letter sent directly from James Dolan's office with specific instructions on how the Knicks are supposed to treat the Brooklyn native in this evening's game in Denver. Here are the instructions, word for word:
Dear Knicks Coaching Staff and Players,
You all know that we are hoping to one day in the near future land a trade that would bring Melo to New York (hopefully for Fat Eddie and Gallo). As a result, it's extremely important that in tonight's game, we show Melo what this current Knicks team is all about. Therefore, we are requiring that the following rules be observed throughout the game this evening to ensure we leave Melo with a warm feeling about our team. They've been aptly named the "Melo Rules." I sure am a clever owner, eh?
*Fouling Melo is prohibited. The coaching staff has been informed that any player that fouls Melo must be benched for the rest of the game.
*Guarding Melo is prohibited. We want him to feel as though he won't have to play any defense when he gets here.
*Going at Melo on the offensive end is prohibited. We want him to feel as though we won't make him work very hard at all.
*Players are required to talk loudly about how great it is to live in New York City whenever Melo is within listening distance.
*Players are required to talk loudly about how fun it is to play for Mike D. whenever Melo is within listening distance.
*Players are required to talk loudly about how good Amar'e is and how they are positive Chris Paul is coming to New York whenever Melo is within listening distance.
*Players are required to talk loudly about how much they want Melo to be a Knick whenever Melo is within listening distance.
*Players are required to get the ball to Gallo whenever he is open so that Denver can see how great of an option he'd be for their team.
*The missing of shots by Gallo is prohibited.
Thank you in advance for your consideration of the "Melo rules." Yes, this is for real.
Yours in Melo,
James Dolan
One Game We Probably Won't Be Watching Tonight:
Washington Wizards Vs. Toronto Raptors
With John Wall in a suit on the bench tonight, this battle of teams with a combined four wins and fourteen losses doesn't really get me pumped up or anything. I'd suggest instead checking out one or all of the following games tonight: B. Jennings against the Kobe and Pau's; Portland and Memphis on Fan Night; our own Mike Bibby out in Indiana; D Rose down in Houston, or the Kingless Cavs against the underachieving 76ers. And that just about covers it. So yeah, watch any game tonight other than this one.
