One Game We Watched This Weekend: Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls

Rajon Rondo took advantage of a Rose-less Chicago, playing his best ball of the season and earning a triple-double en route to beating the first place Bulls. Rondo was in attack mode all afternoon, fast-breaking his way to easy points and assists throughout. With that boring recap out of the way, here are some of the topics my brother and I discussed while watching the game:

The Miami Heat evened the Eastern Conference finals on Wednesday night with stifling defense and another impressive fourth quarter performance from LeBron James. With the series knotted at one game a piece headed back to South Beach, here's what we gathered from game two:

One Game We Watched This Weekend: Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls

Celtics: 110 Bulls: 105 (OT)

The Celtics squeaked out their second straight overtime victory Friday night in a barn-burner against their Eastern conference rivals, the Chicago Bulls. This game was all about Rose and Rondo, as predicted. The young guards went after each other all evening long and everyone that watched witnessed unprecedented greatness from these budding superstars. I desperately want to see them in a footrace. For me, Rondo's got a quicker first step, but when Rose gets going he might have a Rajon by a hair or two in the open floor. KG's pickpocket of Noah at the end of overtime sealed the deal for a Boston team that is rolling so far this regular season. For Chi-town, there are positives to take away from this game, but the bottom line is that Boozer's hand can't heal soon enough. D Rose needs help offensively and Noah needs help on the glass and defending bigs.

Hurt Me Soul: The Truth Behind NBA Injuries

When I heard about Carlos Boozer's hand injury yesterday, I went through the same reaction process that I assume many of you did. Initially, I thought about how tragic it was for those unfortunate enough to have picked him in early fantasy drafts. Next, I wondered if he had actually been beaten up by his partner. Finally, once I realized that tripping over a bag is too goofy to be a cover-up and came to terms with the fact that fantasy implications are, I guess, less important than real-life implications, my thoughts turned to how embarrassing this must be for Boozer! All the cool kids are out there tearing their ACLs or getting hard-won groin injuries, and here was Carlos, just lumbering around like a giant and falling over grounded objects that are too far away for him to see. Sad! He must feel like a real klutz, ya know?

Event Horizon: Bulls

This evening, LeBron James is slated to take up an hour of the world’s time to tell us where he’s going to be rapping and sleeping for the next couple of years. This gesture has so far been called vacuous, despicable, ego-maniacal and poisonous to sports. At No Regard, we think it’s hilarious and have imagined some of our favorite possibilities. Immediate Impact: A race begins to give Chicago’s United Center a shit-eating new nickname. ‘The Slaughterhouse’ narrowly beats out ‘Q-nighted Center’ and overnight Chicago is once again the envy and nightmare of the league. Teaming up with Derrick Rose, Carlos Boozer, and Joakim Noah, LeBron takes the Vader mantle from Jordan and we see his heart begin to blacken.
