Team Dreamin' 2011: LA Lakers

At No Regard, we love basketball. We love the spectacle and strategy of the game, but sometimes the league's lack of imagination confounds and disappoints us. Call us optimists, visionaries, or kids who watched too much Space Jam, but we have ideas. Damn are we gonna share 'em.

Pau Gasol and Brook Lopez are two of the best big men in the league right now. Pau was dominant all year alongside Kobe to help Los Angeles win it's second title in two years and Brook looks like he might someday be a 25 and 10 guy for the Nets. What do they have in common? For starters, they both have brothers who are big-men in the NBA.

How cool would it be to see the Gasols and the Lopezes on the same team playing with the Black Mamba?

Sick, right? Two sets of family members that look alike and all have legitimate inside games playing with a top two player in the NBA. They would be unstoppable AND lovable. Here's how the greatest squad ever would operate: Defensively, LA will use a 2-3 zone. Kobe and Pau will be at the key to challenge threes and deny penetration while the Lopez twins will be the bread in a Marc Gasol sandwich, surrounding the Spaniard on either block down-low. They would get every defensive rebound, and lay-ups would be hard to come by for opponents. Offensively, Kobe would morph into the league's best point guard, running the triangle with Brook and Pau while the other two siblings set bone-crushing picks and crash the offensive glass.

The Lake Show already has 1 of the 4 key ingredients on its roster. They already have a million rings as an organization and most NBA fans are sick of seeing them win with their current team. Why not spice it up a little bit, Jerry? How about doubling your pleasure and doubling your fun?
