One Game We Watched Last Night: Sacramento Kings Vs. Los Angeles Lakers

Lakers: 112 Kings: 100
I'm with you buddy, trust me. I feel the pain. No one wanted the Kings to win more than I did last night. Sadly, the Lakers are a well-oiled machine and did what what they always seem to do, dominate basketball games. Sure, Evans was able to get to the rim throughout the game, and Cousins was playing his heart out (chill on fouling so often though, big guy) but Kobe, Pau and the gang were too much for my beloved Kings. It's not all bad though, Kings. You stayed with them in the 1st quarter!

Another Game I Watched Last Night: Boston Celtics Vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Boston: 105 Bucks: 102 (OT)
This might have been the most exciting game of the year. Lots of lead changes, great highlights, and intense basketball being played. The more I watch this season the more I realize how unique it is going to be. Players are moving away from the "best friends" mentality before, during, and after games and really getting after each other each and every night. It's great to watch such serious competition. Congrats to Paul Pierce who joined Boston's 20,000 point club alongside Bird and Johnny H. What more can we say about Rondo this season? His numbers are unprecedented. I can't wait to see how far he goes.

One Game I Absolutely Didn't Come Close To Watching: Utah Jazz Vs. Toronto Raptors


Jazz: 125 Toronto: 108

Hats off to Al Jefferson and his 27 points last night but this game was never really close. For Utah, it was their 11th straight win over Toronto. For Toronto, not much to say really. At least Bargnani put up 26. He looks like he'll score a bunch this year...

One Game We Definitely Won't Miss This Time, I Swear!: Sacramento Kings Vs. Los Angeles Lakers


That's right, I'm doing it. I am going to watch the Kings tonight. It gets wonkier, I've got them winning, straight up. It's the least I can do after twice suggesting that I wasn't going to watch them play with the end result being that they won two exciting and offensive games. I'm on the King's Express tonight!

The Lakers will struggle this year on the 2nd night of back-to-back games and Tyreke Evans will blow by Derek Fisher all evening long. Let's Go Kings! Don't let me down Kings because there is also this...

One Game That If I Didn't Feel So Bad About Not Watching The Kings I'd Definitely Watch: Phoenix Suns Vs. San Antonio Spurs

These match ups are always battles because these teams hate each other. Look for Steve Nash to require some sort of organ transplant after being demolished by one of the Spurs and then come back right onto the court after receiving it. Duncan's good for 14 points and appearing as though his puppy was just recently hit by a car. The Suns look to get to .500 while the Spurs aim for 3-1. Expect Hedo to light it up tonight and for Phoenix to beat their Western Conference rivals.

One Game We Probably Won't Watch: Utah Jazz Vs. Toronto Raptors

What can I say? I understand that Deron Williams physically dominates opposing point guards but the Jazz have looked less than impressive in their first three games so far and to me it looks as if many of their problems are related to a lack of effort. Strange for a Jerry Sloan team. Toronto is also 1-2 and most likely won't put up a fight in Utah.

Weird how I didn't say I was watching either the Celtics or the Nets tonight.

One Game We Watched Last Night: Portland Trail Blazers Vs. Chicago Bulls

Portland: 98 Chicago: 110

Hot Deng! The story tonight was the African native and his scorching 40 points, which led Chicago in a dominating performance against the formerly undefeated Portland Trail Blazers. This game was never close. Rose was Rose and as usual stirred the drink for Chicago. Where was Roy? I propped him up big time in my preview and he didn't get it together. Here's everything else I thought about while watching this game (and my thoughts on one game I didn't watch).

Team Dreamin' 2011: Sacramento Kings

At No Regard, we love basketball. We love the spectacle and strategy of the game, but sometimes the league's lack of imagination confounds and disappoints us. Call us optimists, visionaries, or kids who watched too much Space Jam, but we have ideas. Damn are we gonna share 'em.


The Sacramento Kings are one of the NBA's hottest young teams. They've got a dynamic second-year guard in Tyreke Evans, an extremely promising rookie big man in DeMarcus Cousins, and several other youthful players--Carl Landry, Omri Casspi, Jason Thompson, Beno Udrih--whose best years lie ahead of them. This is a team that, five years from now, could become a a title contender, provided they continue to draft as well as they have.

But what about this year? How can the Kings become an instant frontrunner in the Western Conference, surpassing the Lakers as the team to beat? Well, it's actually quite simple:

Sacramento Drift

During Memorial Day weekend Tyreke Evans was caught ripping down some freeway racing a silver car. Now the police have released almost 13 minutes of aerial footage clearly displaying the event.

Nice. Good looks Tyreke.

Not much to say, quite frankly. Now we have indisputable proof that the young Kings star is good at driving his really expensive car brutally fast, and does not realize or care that said action is extremely illegal. Cool. If he's suspended, then that sucks because he's really fun to watch, but who would blame Stern. Dude proved he's got no regard for human life, but in a bad way.
